If, in previous posts, we told you everything you need to know to start a new<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arteescuela.com\/tips-carboncillo\/\"><br \/>\n  <strong>experimenting with charcoal<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Today we want to give you a series of keys that will help you learn how to draw with charcoal<\/span>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ae2425a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"ae2425a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Before you start working with charcoal, remember:<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-037ba76 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"037ba76\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Charcoal does not contain binders or fillers, so its fixation to the support will be much less than with other more oily pigments (such as oil or acrylic, for example).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This is a rather delicate material, so we must control the pressure when drawing to avoid splitting the bars.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We must select papers with enough texture and open fibers, to facilitate the adhesion of the charcoal to them, avoiding, in any case, satin surfaces.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Once you have finished your work, we recommend that you use a fixative to prevent the pigment from altering with the passage of time, rubbing, etc. Do not forget to make any changes or corrections before using the fixative.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b3bb699 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"b3bb699\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Other materials to support charcoal work:<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-101d219 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"101d219\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Paper: as mentioned above, with a lot of texture and open fibers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cloth (in light colors) or kitchen paper: to reduce the intensity of the drawing, blur and erase (in the case of paper, the effect is less, recommending it only for small strokes).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Diffuser: to spread the charcoal powder and create different effects.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sandpaper for smudger: to clean it and avoid dragging charcoal residues that could have been deposited on the tip of the smudger.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fixative: to prevent the pigment from altering once the work is finished.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Charcoal erasers: they are moldable. They help us to collect the charcoal dust (taking it with them). They add grease and break the fibers of the paper, so the more we use them, the more difficult it will be to draw on that area.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-70e8480 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"70e8480\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Drawing with charcoal step by step:<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-206ee9e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"206ee9e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Choose the design to be represented. If you are just starting to get into charcoal, we recommend that you opt for a simple drawing, with few shadows and glows, to become more complex as you gain the area of maximum light (the part of the drawing that is completely white), as well as to remove glitter.
